I am so bloody cold I think a fleece may be my last resort. If you find me a nice one I promise not to wear it with supermarket jeans and crocs.

No such thing as a 'nice fleece'

hellymelly · 07/02/2009 22:21

www.joulesclothing.com/product/Womens_SweatshirtsRugby/G_BONITA.htm# Fleeces aren't my thing but the quality from here is good

TheThoughtPolice · 07/02/2009 22:23

Try again. Fleeces aren't my thing but the quality from here is good

Lilliput · 07/02/2009 22:24

I live in rural scotland, I have resisted a fleece for so long now but this bloody weather is killing me.

UniQlo (I think that's how it's spelt) Have fitted female shaped fleeces. I love my white one. Also I used to have a fitted Northface one but haven't seen a replacement in years. Go to outdoor shops and only try on the women's ones. sadly most are shapeless. >>>

hellymelly · 07/02/2009 22:28

Well I used to work outside in all weathers and the thing that kept me warm was a teeny silk rib thermal vest, but now I have my aforementioned Howies base layers and I also have silk and wool mix vests and long johns and mohair socks.Sound glam don't I ? like a woolly michelin man.

cocolepew · 07/02/2009 22:28

Step away from the fleece.

Wear a vest.

Tucked into your knickers.

mrsmaidamess · 07/02/2009 22:29

Now we're talking

TheThoughtPolice · 07/02/2009 22:30

OH. MY. GOD. Lands End have a 'fleece finder'

[thud]

starbear · 07/02/2009 22:30

mrsmaidamess LOL Is that from Canada?

badgermonkey · 07/02/2009 22:32

I like that one, mrsmaidamess. It says "I like to be warm and comfy" but also "I feel that my spirit, while encumbered by earthly worries and desires, has about it something of the wolf, be it my love of the wild or my yearning to howl, howl at the moon. Although I am dressed practically, I am yet a child of nature. Envy me."

I'm getting two - one for everyday and one for when the other one's in the wash.

differentCupID · 07/02/2009 22:32

I wear a fleece to work every day

mrsmaidamess · 07/02/2009 22:34

They come with tigers on, horses crashing through the surf, all sorts.

badgermonkey · 07/02/2009 22:36

I don't like the way you can wash a fleece and when you take it out of the machine it's already dry. That ain't right.

Mummyfor3 · 07/02/2009 22:38

In defense of fleeces:

THEY ARE FAB !!

Lots of decent shapes and colours out there:
try North Face, White stuff, even [gasp] Berghaus! Yes, only try on woman's shapes, there is lots of fitted stuff out there.

Oh, and they are SOOOOOO cosy [hate thermal underwear emoticon]!

mileniwmffalcon · 07/02/2009 22:40

get thee to a surf/snowbaord shop.

Mummyfor3 · 07/02/2009 22:43

Oh, and FatFace!!

blithedance · 07/02/2009 22:44

Good Ol' woolly jumper?

Down Jacket?

Fleece from a high-end walking shop "I'd-have-put-on-my-Boden-mac-but-just-rushed-back-from-doing-three-Munros"

My fleece is a Sprayway windblock one, it's completely toasty. Matching accessories help too!

mileniwmffalcon · 07/02/2009 22:44

fat face is boring :P

Mummyfor3 · 07/02/2009 22:48

mileni, yeah, but toasty !!

blithedance · 07/02/2009 23:05

I meant colour co-ordinated accessories, not head to toe fleece!

starbear · 08/02/2009 10:39

hellymelly Vests are good if your going stay outdoors. But I go in and out and a fleece can be taken off without showing you bra to the boys!
