I have this dress in green. The background is chocolate brown, so I'm looking for shoes, possibly boots, with a heel, tights and a bag to go with it to wear to a wdding

I have a chocolate brown jacket that sort of goes, and I will be wearing it to a wedding.

Dont want to go for black, as its wrong. I cant find anything that looks right ..

Wow that's gorgeous - where's it from?

southeastastra · 06/02/2009 20:08

don't it looks nice as it is, otherwise you'd be veering on the bet lynch look

rhubarbp2 · 06/02/2009 20:18

I was just looking for a brown bag ( maybe a large clutch) and brown shoes or boots and thinking of thick patterned or opaque tights in brown. There just doesnt seem to be much around

I do quite like the bet lynch look tho' ;)

The family would never forgive me

Def NOT patterned tights. I would go for flesh coloured actually, and some neutral or brown heels. A clutch would be great, you could pick out the greeny mustard colour. I would keep jewels to a minimum.

hatwoman · 06/02/2009 20:23

I agree - it's very nice - but for a wedding I wouldn;t go for boots - too day-timey smart/casual. I think a dress like that is great cos you can dress it up or down - and for a wedding I think you should be dressing it up - with some ver sexy heels.and no tights/normal tights - rather than thick ones

would small pearls with a chunkier pearl bracelet be awful?

I also agree that green shoes and bag would like fab - but (with my practical head on) brown might get more wear

hatwoman · 06/02/2009 20:27

the angola strappy snake is weddingy - but hard to tell if the colour's right

Nice shoes. I will see if I can get to a hobbs to see them. The green in RL is sort of a 'jade green'. I have attempted to match with a green bag - which I dont have a link to, but its just not the right green.

Where can I get brown shoes from? Have tried LK bennett, Hobbs, carvela etc with no luck.

Love the idea of matching the green, I'm just a bit clueless

wouldnt do pearls.

would go for chunky necklace only and no other jewellry.

high sexy heels and no tights just fake tan.

medium size clutch.

pref in green for shoes and bag with necklace in either grenn or brown or a combo of both.

cornsilk · 06/02/2009 20:39

Amazon have some nice carvella ones left in the sale. I am at that dress.

rhubarbp2 · 08/02/2009 18:42

I didnt know amazon did shoes - got some dark brown patent ones..

has anyone seen a chocolate brown jacket? It doesnt seem to be a colour thats around ATM.

I got this

www.johnlewis.com/22812/Product.aspx

but the sleeves are shorter and its a bit boxy on. I would really like something a bit longer with a waist. I am a size 16-ish and dont want everyone to think I am expecting again..
