What colour shall I dye my hair?

I had my hair cut short last week, and now I am completely grey! Although I am in my 40s, I just dont like being grey.....

I have fair skin, greeny hazel eyes, my natural hair colour was dark brown, but that would look wierd on me now, especially as I have always dyed it various shades of red.

I am swithering between carrying on with the red, or trying blond which I have never tried before.

Please dont tell me to go grey gracefully as I am not ready for that yet!

Im grey too but am a coward so have stuck to roughly my natural colour. I would be concerned about blonde draining you if you are very fair and are dark brown naturally. Are you talking about blonde blonde or mid coloured?

Green. I've always wanted green hair. Do it for me! I have to be responsible

red, VERY red

Lulumama · 06/02/2009 16:30

scarlet.. proper bright red.

Gotback to the hairdressers and get them to do a nice artistic colour treatment on you. Home dye kits are horrid.

i do home colour better than most of the (very expensive!) hairdressers i've been to :P

Fubsy · 06/02/2009 17:26

Bodiddly, thanks for that - I think blond probably would be draining, as I dont suit light colours generally!

Looks like it's the VERY red then!

do not go b,ond, everybody goes blond whren they go grey, dye it pillarbox red or purple or something, it will look fab.

Fubsy · 06/02/2009 17:28

Oh, and it will be a home colour - once upon a time, when I still had some money, I went to a hairdresser for colour, and paid them £70 to do something that imo was no better than what I do myself. And it faded in a couple of weeks. Im not doing that again!

blue was my fave, although it faded really quick, purple was easier to maintain
