Cheap but gorgeous mascara??

I need to go out at lunchtime and buy a new mascara. The one I am wearing is driving me mad, giving me serious panda eyes, despite it being YSL.

I can only really manage to get to Tesco, which has the usual brands - L'oreal, Revlon, Maybelline etc.

I like a thickening mascara, with a full brush. Does anyone have any recommendations?

The (Maybelline or Revlon?) "Sexy Curves" one in a purple container has a plastic brush but I think it is one of the best cheap ones I've bought. I usually use YSL and love it though.

Don't buy the new Maybelline one in the fat yellow tube - it's crap!

MaxFactor False Lash Effect is the best I've tried in a long time .It has a really fat brush goes on well and thickens without going clumpy.I think I paid about £9 in Asda.

I have quite sparse eyelashes and need a mascara that thickens them up without getting that cabaret/clockwork orange spider leg look.

Generally I use clinique as I get it as a gift but if I have to buy one myself I would say my favourite is still the Loreal Voluminous one...Ive spent twice as much on other ones and they have been nowhere near as good. Im sure ive bought it in Tesco before.

These are all great ideas. I will have a good look today and let you know which one I get!

I bought the Max Factor False Lash Effect one. Mainly because it was the only one that wasn't encased in packaging and I coud examine it properly!

I like the pink one from MAybelline - very durable

Rimmel ones are good

bourjois mascaras are fabulous - not too cheap though, about £12 or thereabouts.

I've just ordered that Virgin Vie one. At £2,50 you probably can't go wrong.
