Eye liner

How do you do eye liner like this (on the bottom lashes, not the top)?

Draw it on as close to the lash roots as possible? I'd suggest a liquid liner pen rather than a pencil.

use a pencil for under eye lashes, dot it along as close to the lash roots as possible and smudge it, or use an eyeshadow instead in the same way?

looks like she has also used eyeliner on the inside of her lower lids too (pencil)

liquid liner is better for the upper lid, imo

Get a small, stiff, flat liner brush, dip the brush in eyeshadow and dot along lower lashes, as close in as you can, then sweep across and blend.

i use a pencil and just draw it across the inside of my lower lid.

In the 80s I used to draw on the bit 'inside' the eye... but it never stayed there, always smudged. Now I have abandoned lower lid lining and draw on the upper lid only. (Sorry to be no help whatsoever.)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm trying out a combo of liquid liner, pencil and eye shadow and hoping for the best. Now I need to remove all of this before going to sleep. Darn.
