Any advice on dyeing Grey Hair?!

I have very grey hair, which I took the decision to just let grow out. I mean, I have it cut in a nice mid-length style but just gave up dyeing it.

It is actually quite a nice colour and I thought I was really decided on this BUT all of a sudden I feel it's making me look old AND ds said the other day that he doesn't like it grey (he's only six and I think it makes him anxious - like I am old and might conk out at any moment!)

Just wondered if there is anyone out there who dyes really grey hair and what do you use, is there anything natural out there that I could use? Suppose henna would make me go bright orange?

TIA.

aw, my mum always had bright white hair [went white in her late thirties] and i suppose i did worry about her mortality!

I have some white hairs growing vertically out of my scalp, lovely, and i'm starting to think about hair dye. A friend uses a natural hair dye [not henna] she gets from Holland and Barratt - can't remember the name, but she says it is very good. Will try to look it up.

ooo thanks ruty...I will have a look as well. Part of my decision to give up hair dye was that I hate all the chemicals etc. Wouldn't mind something more natural...

Advice about dyeing grey hair: do it often. Don't wait until you have big grey roots and look like a skunk as one woman at my old work did.

If you can afford to buy stuff and potentially not use it, do a test (with an underneath bit of hair, or a lock taken when you have it cut) to see if henna does make your hair go bright orange.

There was a post on this a few weeks ago - there are two Daniel Field sites. This is the genuine Daniel Field site. This is the other thread.

have you tried a silver shampoo? the thing is with grey hair is that it can look a little dull and a silver shampoo or mousse will make it shine...
or how about a blonde shampoo or mousse
