what colour shoes for a navy dress?

I have bought today a really nice navy dress today but am now unsure as to what colour shoes to wear with it. Have been looking at navy shoes but do you think that will be too much? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Red might look a bit "air hostessey".

I once had a navyblue and pink dress and it was lovely.

Silver, yeah, that sounds the best suggestion so far. Dark Grey too.

If you can GET navy shoes they would work too imo.

What about flesh-toned shoes? Make your legs look longer too, as a side benefit?

Sometimes things go into the stores before they appear on the website, I work for the company and I usually pick up things within the stores way before they appear on the website. There is another shirt dress on the website that you might like.

I am going to a school reunion in May and I want a dress that is dressed up enough so that I don't feel underdressed or frumpy or boring. I want to feel stylish but without looking like I've tried to hard. I had decided that a well-accessorised navy shirt dress would be perfect and I just couldn't find one, so thanks!!! I like the black firetrap one (littlewoods) and would've settled for that in the end if I couldn't track down a navy one..

I wear red with navy, nude can also look good.

The local TV weather girl has a pair of yellow high heeled shoes that she must love as she wears them once a week!! They look fab with a navy suit or dress. Not sure I would get a yellow bag though!!

It is just one step on from gold shoes which my friend had or her bridesmaids who wore navy dresses.

Yellow, cream or gold. Definitely not red or black. Boring same old. Even go with nautical white but be careful on the style if opt for white ones.

"Nude" shoes are very now. I would never go with white shoes apart from maybe flip flops in the summer. Grey is another option. Nude shoes are everywhere at the moment - have a look at shoe studio

what style dres is it? If fairly conservative/formal I'd go for beige.

I agree with browntrout - I'd go for those too. Subtle enough but would look great in day or evening.

i also quite like these. it could go wrong with some outfits but i think would look quite classy with this dress;
