Just found £90 of Debenhams vouchers in my handbag- what to spend it on???

The vouchers are a couple of years old so I'm assuming they'll still be accepted.
I'm about size 14, a bit post-pregnancy and gradually losing the baby weight [hopeful emoticon]. 34E last time I checked.
I've got 2 little DDs so need something that'll stand up to frequent washing...
Anyone inspired???

are you bfing atm? if not some fab new bras as i think your bra size changes post pregancy and a good bra makes your figure seem to loose weight

RinkyDinkyPinky · 30/01/2009 19:11

That's a great idea, but only recently stopped BF so I think it might be best to wait a bit longer until size settles. My underwear is incredibly boring right now .

Go to nails inc (usually in debenhams....although selfridges some times...) and pamper yourself.. Hand massage or french polish or feet done or nail treatment/extensions...

RinkyDinkyPinky · 30/01/2009 19:36

Ooh, I like the pampering idea. My finger nails are an embarrasment, but I don't think my local Debs has a nail/ pamper spa.

where abouts are you..?

RinkyDinkyPinky · 30/01/2009 19:59

I could do with an outfit for occasional nights out tbh. Something to improve on current uniform of jeans...
Lordy, I sound devoid of style

What else did you find in there?
Have fun spending

RinkyDinkyPinky · 30/01/2009 20:19

I know YLB, it sounds ridiculous, but the vouchers are on little plastic cards, like credit cards, and on my infrequent trips to Debenhams I forget that they're there. I did also find a &10 gap credit note, and ELC voucher, 4 WHS vouchers (Christmas presents for the DDs), a Mothercare voucher from when DD2 was born and a voucher for Habitat.

In my defense I am going to blame pregna-brain and BF hormones...

If it was my bag it would be sticky receipts, leaking biros etc. Well done you! You really can go on a sending spree

RinkyDinkyPinky · 30/01/2009 20:29

I'm in Cambridge Shhhh.

There is a nail bar in the Grafton centre Debenhams...

Jojay · 30/01/2009 21:39

Make an appointment with a Personal Shopper - they're fab.

Do check that the gift cards are still valid though - they don't last for ever as far as I know. There should be a number on them you can call to check the balance

RinkyDinkyPinky · 30/01/2009 22:07

Jojay- have you had a personal shopper? did they follow your style well? I'll look for the phone numberr and check validity first.

No, but I work for Debs so I know they're very good

Shhhh · 31/01/2009 20:31

look at this link Not sure if your local debenhams is on..?

If they are, have your nails done and buy some clothing...
Pamper and treat .x

btw, I think the vouchers will be valid..I don't think the cards expire as I don't recall a use by date..paper vouchers were different. Hope you enjoy spending them.

RinkyDinkyPinky · 31/01/2009 21:35

Thank You All!
I'll plan a bit of retail/ pampering luxe and leave the DDs with DH.

Sorry to be a party pooper. I was sure that the cards have a 2 year expiry and have just checked one in my purse. It says if not used within 24 months, the balance will expire. I'd check before mentally spending...

Fingers crossed for you and, if still valid, enjoy spending!

JollyPirate · 01/02/2009 07:38

If they have expired I'd be tempted to write to their head office and appeal to the MD's better nature re honouring them.

Furball · 01/02/2009 07:49

I thought they were 2 years as well but found a really old card with a couple of quid on it and it worked.

maybe they just say 2 years to gt you to spend it?

RipMacWinkle · 01/02/2009 07:52

Too true furball - maybe they do? I just thought i'd mention in case the OP has any issues. I'd be crying at the cash desk if it was me and i'd lost hte balance.

Good idea though JollyPirate.

Chances are as everyone says, they don't actually expire, Debenhams just reserve the right to tell you to beat it.
