I am looking for a large-ish silver/pewter over the shoulder handbag

A simple large-ish one (sufficiently large to carry a toddler cup, bib, nappy, small pack of wipes and my tiny purse) if poss. I really fancy one for Spring. Budget up to £150 - can anyone help me find one, please?

Wheelybug · 27/01/2009 17:54

Have you looked on Boden ? I got one in the sale just as you describe for exactly what you describe - don't know if there's any left though...

EldonAve · 27/01/2009 17:54

shopstyle

website with stuff from lots of diff shops you you can search more than one place at once

paddingtonbore · 27/01/2009 17:55

perhaps not on your radar, given the budget, but primark had some corkers last time I was in there.

Wheelybug · 27/01/2009 17:58

not big enough ??

not handbaggy enough ??

the one I bought last season

samsonara · 27/01/2009 18:02

Yes check out the shopstyle website as EldonAve mentioned. Here are a few you may like, not exactly pewter silver but could work well as baby bags:
french connection £65
mango
bronze new look
john lewis

Oooh. Thank you all so much. There are lots and there was me saying to my friend at lunchtime that a silver bag doesn't seem to exist.

I really quite fancy the Boden ones (though they are pricey) but can't decide between the grainy silver shopper (which has no zip) and the silver satchel. Any thoughts?

It's so hard to be stylish whilst carrying a toddler cup, nappy and wipes.

I'd chose the satchel of those two - in fact, am kicking myself for not waiting as I really like it although not sure it'll be big enough for newborn things.

chocolatebunnies · 27/01/2009 19:29

I have one that is brand new from River Island that I have never used,
Its pewter, with a leopard print inner lining, seperated into 3 sections, would sell it to you if interested??

Swedes · 27/01/2009 19:45

Chocolatebunnies - I have just ordered the Boden silver satchel. But thanks anyway for asking.

Everyone, do you think a pair of Boden silver casual shoes would scream midlife crisis a bit too loudly?

ooh swedes - do report back on it. Just in case the tote I've bought doesn't work out .

EldonAve · 27/01/2009 19:59

re the shoes I think you need the converse ones with the sequins - someone had bought them in fuchsia the other day

EldonAve · 27/01/2009 20:00

shoes

Swedes · 27/01/2009 21:28

Wheelybug, yes will do. And thank you so much for your help.

EldonAve - Yes I had spotted those Converse sequinned ones in a marginally different colour (silver and white as opposed to black). I'm trying to decide whether plain silver pumps might be more fitting for a gimmer like me.
