white shirts for work -

need to get some more for when I return to work - need to be quite smart but not too fancy/expensive (mainly as get worn under a jacket a lot of teh time).

In the past I've got them from tm lewin -but don't like cut (too tight on me), m&S (used to be good but now material is too cheap or its too gimmmicky) - any other suggestions - am prepared to spend up to about £30/40 on them (or little more if really nice but imho you can't get that worked up about a shirt).

Gap? Or Thomas Pink? I have found that THomas Pink women's shirts fit much better than TM Lewin - fitted but not tight, iyswim.

Or Zara. Their Woman range is particularly fab

I used to buy my plain white shirts from asda, they cost me £3 but were nicer than the topshop ones I had.

i used to wear a lot of tm lewin and thomas pink, but my absolute favourites of the moment are Hawes and Curtis. if they don't have a branch near you they do a fab online ordering service and everything comes boxed up in tissue paper. they wear and wash really well. their ladies shirts are £25 each in the sale. I am a 34D and normally take size 12 tops, but take a 14 in their shirts to go over boobs (same as in other brands). don't bother with charles tyrritt - they're bobbins quality.

I got some really nice shirts in the Hobbs sale. They were between £30 and £40.

Second Smittenkitten with Hawes and Curtis. I bought one of their coloured Hipster shirts (very fitted but long in the body so not constantly tucking it in) pre Christmas - £25 and excellent quality. Popped in yesterday and ordered a plain white cotton Hipster and a lovely satin Hipster this one. £20 each as they are on offer at the moment. I have always worn Thomas Pink or TM Lewin in the past but went off TP as they just became so ridiculously expensive. H&C are good quality and they have lots of different cuts.

this is really helpful -dunno why didnt think of zara.. and seem to remember tried charles trwhitt (or however you spell it) before and it was a complete waste of time
