May I recommend Bobbi Brown Basics Eye Palette...

...it's got 4 just so shades that blend and complement perfectly. One pale base shade, one mid tone brown, one shimmer brown and a darker one for eye lining.

The background: First night out with DH since DD2 was born, 7 months ago. I haven't worn eyeshaddow for ages and wasn't convinced I could pull off the funkier colours of my carefree pre-DDs days but still wanted a little glam- if only to detract from my still-wobbly baby belly
Ta da! With only a couple of minutes left, after the babysitter arrived, to do my face- instant cool/ still got it/ grown up understated sexy eyes.

Right, I am such a sucker for this kind of advice that I went out and tried this - and bought it! And you are right Rinky. It is ace. The little brush which comes for the eyeliner really works, and the colours are fab.

Thirty quid though!!! I won't be treating myself again for quite a while !!

(Oh, and tip to anyone going to a Bobbi Brown counter is that you have to book in advance, ideally... They were oddly snooty when I turned up asking for advice on spec. Maybe it's because I was wearing a big hairy jumper and clutching assorted ancient carrier bags, I think they just don't take you seriously unless you look all groomed when you rock up at the counter.)

Oh I do love Bobbi Brown. I've never had to make an appointment Wobbegong. That sounds rather annoying.

wobbegong · 09/02/2009 21:34

Probably because it was a Saturday afternoon. I thought that there was a recession on or something, but not at John Lewis Oxford Street this weekend, it was rammed!

tattycoram · 09/02/2009 21:37

Must have been - Oxford St on a Saturday afternoon is hard work.

hoxtonchick · 09/02/2009 21:39

i've heard it helps if you work round the corner tatty .

I also have that and a few other bits of theirs. Too pricey for me normally, but my brothers gf works for them.

tattycoram · 09/02/2009 21:42

Oooh Crackernut

hoxtonchick · 09/02/2009 21:43

tattycoram · 09/02/2009 21:46
