Musings on a middle parting...

RiaParkinson · 25/01/2009 20:30

My dd seemed horrified when i suggested i may change back to one...

I am 41 with blonde shoulder length hair and actually think it suits my face better...ie look prettier!

I was mulling it over and noticed that Ulrika usually wears hers mid parting too and my look age etc is not dissimilar

Any thoughts?

brimfull · 25/01/2009 20:36

post a photo and we'll helpyou decide

fishiedewar · 25/01/2009 20:37

i have middle parting but with curly hair think that something neat is needed. also have fairly symmetrical face.

what is alternative ria, a fringe?

nancy75 · 25/01/2009 20:37

i've got a middle parting, whenever i have a side parting cut it slowly creeps back to the middle, i'm just going with it now.

MaryAnnSingleton · 25/01/2009 20:45

I've just had a fringe cut and so have a middle-ish parting,it was a bit off centre before without fringe

RiaParkinson · 25/01/2009 20:46

side partings are soooo in fashion though arnt they?

contemplating a pic ...

Side parting or middle parting sounds inconsequential but actually it changes a face entirely. I look hopeless with a middle parting. And interestingly DD who is only 3 looks terrible with a middle parting too.

ProfRichardDawkins · 25/01/2009 20:50

Ria - Sadly I had a side parting even when it wasn't fashionable.

twinsetandpearls · 25/01/2009 20:54

Not that it matters but I am sure I read somewhere today that centre partings are back in.

Tinker · 25/01/2009 20:58

What kind of nose and forehead have you got? Big noses look HUGE with centre partings. And I think your forehead should be quite small. I think.

Northernlurker · 25/01/2009 21:01

I have a middle parting. We (my hairdresser and I ) did try a side one for a bit but it would never stay there.

RiaParkinson · 25/01/2009 21:12

interesting posts

nose NOT small although very thin

foehead normal i think although my mother once told me i should have been born in Elisabethan england as big foreheads were fashionable -

trying to do some pics but i am already back to last summer (when i gave birth) as i have looked so rough since!

I have no choice but to have a middle parting - whatever I try it just falls, curtain-like, from the centre. Am very jealous at those with parting options .

tumtumtetum · 25/01/2009 21:20

My hair only goes in the middle as well. Anything else only lasts a little while before it swings back to where it wants to be.

Interestingly a hairdresser once told me it was my fault for not trying different hairstyles and therefore not showing my hair who's boss

RiaParkinson · 25/01/2009 22:23

have put some rubbish pics up for a bit!

It all depends on your face shape and hair type. I think you could do a centre parting.
Personally a side parting suits me better as I have a irregular head.

RiaParkinson · 25/01/2009 22:31

irregular head mrsseanbean?

mrsseanbean · 25/01/2009 22:34

Yes, both inside and out alas. Not round, sort of oblong but a bit more to one side.

RiaParkinson · 25/01/2009 22:36
