Where does your DH/DP shop for clothes?

DH has decided he wants a wardrobe revamp but where to go? He jokingly says he wants to return to looking like 'catalogue man' but also says he wants to look dapper.
He used to shop a lot in Selfridges, Fenwick, Nicole Farhi but since having DD we'd rather not waste money on ourselves.
When in Spain/Portugal he loves El Cortes Ingles - good quality, reasonably priced.

Looking for inspiration, so please tell me your DH/DP's favourite clothes shops.

Feeling lucky - You didn't see the trousers he had picked out.

Uniqlo and TK Maxx usually. M&S for work shirts/suits in sale. woudln't be seeen dead in Boden.

El Cortes Ingles has made me laugh. Spent about an hour lost in the Barcelone one years ago. We called it "Quingles" as couldn't make out the logo properly

He doesn't really shop for clothes though. It's not one of those blokes you see actively walking around the a shopping centre enjoying shopping (which I'm very glad about) Equally though, there's a lot he won't wear.

He used to get nearly everything from Debenhams, but since being with me has been introduced to French Connection, where he gets a lot of his clothes. I have also bought him bits from Diesel, zara, Ted Baker & Paul Smith. You are pretty limited with decent mens shops though.

jenk1 · 24/01/2009 17:28

he likes a mixture really from
Asda to the designer makes,he mixes them.

when we first got together he wore nothing but nike and adidas tracksuit bottoms but he has changed his dress code now and wears trousers/jeans with nice jumpers and tshirts.

still wears the sportswear at the weekend tho!!

Thanks everyone.
We're off to to Brent Cross today and will check out all these shops.
... will use the bitch slapping technique if DH doesn't listen to me and tries on anything dodgy

Gap, Monsoon and Zara

Apparently Top Shop is really nice for men too? BUt that advice comes from my little brother and he is only 26.

lljkk · 25/01/2009 12:03

My brother-in-law cares a lot about clothes, then again, he is gay... .

BIL used to give his cast-offs to DH, but now we have to fend for ourselves. For Xmas I gave DH smart clothes from Next and casual items from Sainsbury. I didn't have time to shop elsewhere. On Xmas day BIL was first one to notice DH's new shirt, a lot faster than MIL!

DH 53 & quite skinny
Boss & D&G - jeans
Charles Turner Work shirts
Howies, northface casual tops
Ted Baker,Fat face, wWite Stuff shirts, combats etc.
Never M&S and seldom Next because the sizes are so huge and they have very little in 30/32 trousers. He may be an engineer, but he does try ,bless him.

Ede and Ravenscroft.

My DH rocks the corduroy look.

bluebump · 25/01/2009 14:13

El Cortes Ingles stuff is just like what they sell in House of Fraser and Debenhams isn't it? We only tend to have a browse upstairs and then have a wander down in the food bit downstairs!

BonsoirAnna · 25/01/2009 14:16

Gant
Hackett
Crossword (fab fab fab shop in Brussels)
Lanvin

samsonara · 25/01/2009 14:56

You lot have well dressed stylish dh-dps, mine hates clothes shopping and buys nearly all his casual clothes from M and S and you probably could fit all his non work clothes into one bin liner. Work clothes (suits and shirts) however take up alot of space and all but a couple of them are tailor made. I never buy clothes for him, he asked me not to probably because he knows I'd be back with clothes from the stylish ones you have mentioned!

Thanks everyone. We checked out the recommended shops plus more and ended up making purchases from Tommy Hilfiger, Fenwick and M&S
