....I am going to have to wear them to hold up my support stockings and am confused. The modern looking ones look like they will be pulled down by the stockings but I am going to have to have a serious wardrobe rethink if I havve to wear these every day.

Any these are the cheapest I have found . Any advice?

what kind of stockings are you wearing?

BitOfFun · 22/01/2009 16:13

I like the second ones though-very Dita! First should be fine though.

jennylindinha · 22/01/2009 16:19

I quite like the vintage-looking ones! Try M&S as they usually have some reasonably priced ones. I bought some flimsy ones in the sale last year for only £3!
Also try figleaves as they have some cheaper ones.

And the flimsy looking ones stay up?

Proper Scholl stockings, NP

The flimsy ones do stay up yes, but I've no idea how they could cope with Scholl stockings instead of 10 denier!

nailpolish · 22/01/2009 17:05

i think just regular ones would work

higgle · 22/01/2009 18:16

You do need 6 strap suspenders to be comfortable Stockings HQ have lots of lovely ones here
but there has been a problem with the web site so you will have to wait to view them all. I like to wear wool or atterned stockings in the winter and they have a really good selection.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 22/01/2009 18:18

I really like the second one. I would be very surprised if the flimsy ones will hold up serious Scholl stockings, tbh.

AccidentalMum · 23/01/2009 12:44

Thanks for all the links . Lots of the mainstream shops seem to have gone over to knickers with suspenders attached which seems like a crazy idea....I would need millions.

The 'modern' ones will be fine. The other set may hold a tummy in better though. Bulge below belt does not a sexy look make - smeaking strictly from my own experience of course. I bet Accidental Mum has a washbiard tum.

mrsseanbean · 23/01/2009 17:20

that would be washboard, sorry...

moocowme · 23/01/2009 20:51

i know the man who runs stockings HQ. used to work just round the corner from him so popped in all the time to buy stockings. sadly moved to another job so don't pop in all that often now. he does do a good range and price tho.
