Hats .... help!

I'd really like a hat to wear on the school run. However, can't find one that's suitable. Basically, once I've straightened my hair in the morning, if I go out and it's misty/drizzly it will frizz up again, so I thought a hat would be the answer. But what? The pull on woolly beanie types just look silly on me. In fact DP said the phrase "village idiot" came to mind.... So can anyone come up with any good ideas? BTW I'm 41 so I don't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb, but equally don't want to look like someone's granny. Thanks you lot.

is it a rural or urban school run, and is it a particularly stylish area?

I look ridiculous in beanie hats. Dh mocks me too. Actually, I look terrible in most hats.

I went into Accessorize the other day and tried on a lot of their hats and found one, which was almost a beret, that looked genuinely nice.

So I'd advise you to look at their selection, which is wide enough to have provided me with one that doesn't make me look like a village idiot. Which is an achievement.

Will give them a go, thanks zen. barbie - it's a rural school run, and most are amazingly unstylish! So I could get away with looking like a twit but just don't want to.
