Are these lovely, or are the heels wrong somehow?

I want boots like this... but something about the heels on these doesn't look right to me. And does the leather look cheap, like, kind of shiny in a bad way?

They're still the type of boots I want, though - flat, and not super high (have got short stumpy legs), but also won't cling to my calves. Any ideas? I am starting to think my dream boots do not exist.

Brown or black, I don't think I mind. It's the non-clingy bit that's most important.
