Hi, I am looking at Boden shorts for ds who is a tall skinny ish age 10 (11 in Sept)should I go for size 9-10 or 11-12. It says they have elastic waist to pull in.

I would go for the 11-12. The elastic waists are fab (button-hole elastic like on maternity clothes!) - dd1 is also skinny and she has Boden trousers which are a great fit due to the elastic. hth

Shorts should be fine but I've had no luck getting trousers to fit from there - always much too short. Would be great if they did long lengths like for grown ups as there's only a certain amount you can pull trousers in before dd says they look too baggy. We like Gap slim fit. Unfortunately I don't have the same prob as dd..

i usually buy gap, thats why i thought these might fit the same, because they have the elastic too,
