I'm fed up of being out of shape, scruffy Mummy. From this week I'm going to watch less Telly get more exercise in and start looking groomed. Any scruffy bugger want to join me. I plan to be a Diva by summer.
I'm sitting here in a Fleece, green 'Tu' Sainsbury's old t-shirt, men's Gap jeans and brown flat trainer type thing, eyebrows need doing and hair needs cutting. Time to change. Anyone want to join a support group?

And how is the new hair Cyteen?

Starbear, I am of trip to Spain. And my hair looks like I've just got up most of the time .

Swimming this morning, though I feel like I wasted it a bit because I didn't work very hard. But it was nice and relaxing. Need to put as little make up on and stuff as yet though before we go out this afternoon.

Hi everyone - please can I join you too?? So glad I found your thread.

Have finally reached my 'that is it!' eureka moment. My overall 'look' so far this year is maternity jeans (still), one of DH's attractive grey or black t-shirts, grey underwear, hair scraped back, no make-up. I just feel completely invisible, making myself feel better with wine, crisps and chocolate.

So I decided last night, no more i've just had a baby excuses - she's nearly 9 months!

It's the excess weight where I'm starting first. I've got 25lbs to lose and I'm hoping to shift them by my DD2's first birthday in June.

So, started the diet this morning, kicked DH and the girls out to the park and put on Ministry of Sounds new Aeroburn dance mix......OMG I barely got through the warm up, attempted some of the actual work out and just sat watching the 'tone up section' mouth agape. These women are not 32 year old mothers of 2!

Not the best of starts, but I'm still feeling determined.

Off for a hot bath now!

This is a great thread. I've not had my baby yet but I know I'm a bit hit and miss when it comes to making the best of myself so I'll definitely need to go the extra mile.

I just had my first haircut from a mobile hairdresser instead of going to the salon, and he did an ace job! Only took 1 hour to do my highlights instead of the usual 3, and at least 50% cheaper.

Nezzi · 16/03/2009 18:57

Hello fraggletits, and welcome to the thread I don't think 9 months is such a long time is it!? Having a baby is a major stress on a woman's body so as far as I'm concerned you can still use DC as an excuse!

Queen, welcome to you too! When is your baby due? I wish I could find a mobile hairdresser, I hate the palaver (sp?) of spending hours in the salon. It's worse now that I'm a mum 'cause I keep thinking "I have to get home, hurry up!" ...3 hours later.... It's such a waste, I've got better things to do!
My hair is ridiculously out of shape, it looks a mess I've got lots of things on this week where I'll be around other mums so I'm hoping they look as slummy mummy as I do! Thankfully I have an appt booked for Fri morning, can't wait.

fraggletits · 16/03/2009 20:21

Hi Nezzi thanks for the welcome 9 months isn't a long time but the weight from DD1 stayed on for too long, I had just lost it all when I found out I was pregnant again . With summer coming up I just want to look decent for a change!

Hi Queen, I have never even considered a mobile hairdresser. I am def gonna look one up cause getting to a salon with a baby is not easy - hence why I don't ever go!

Starbear · 16/03/2009 21:41

Hello fraggletits & Quennie Not sure about a mobile hairdresser but might ask around if they are 50% cheaper instead of promising to do my own cover up of the grey hair. My appointments not until Friday 27th. Just brought a magazine to look at some styles.
Don't like the way some hairdressers do the some sort of style for everyone! short at the back bob and if you say anything they reply 'that so ageing!' Any way going to give this new guy a go.
Went running today 2 miles slow but it getting back into the swing that's important.
Lets see what tomorrow brings
Off and home alone so have lots of chores.
I will try and make time for the gym or a Nell's fitness's DVD.

Well I'm not doing very well on the diet or exercise front, but I'm feeling a lot better about my clothes - have had another sort through and put some different outfits together. I also bought a denim skirt on e-bay, I've never owned one before and it's filled a gaping hole in my wardrobe that I didn't even know was there!

Skin - have started using the Oil Cleansing Method and loving it so far, my skin looks loads better in just 2 days. I'm also using Protect and Perfect, my skin was actually glowing when I left the house this morning!
Nails - fingers good, toes bad. Must sort them out.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 22/03/2009 21:19

Things have been so-so here. Skin care being maintained, though tonight was the first face mask in weeks. Exercise and healthy eating generally good, but ate crumpets tonight that I ought not to have done. Fingernails looking good apart from a broken thumb nail which had to be filed back to a nice neat short nail. Feet and toe nails awful though. But I did shave my pits as well as my legs tonight, and used the face mask at last, deep conditioned my hair, and plucked eyebrows. Have unsightly scars on knees and ankles from falls though. And would like to get rid of the discoloured skin just below the kneecaps that looks looks like bruising but isn't because it's been there for a couple of years. Any ideas?
