Please talk me out of skinny jeans.

I really want some skinny jeans but I don't know if they will look any good.

I am a size 16(not for long hopefully) but have long thin legs. I am fed up of still wearing my maternity trousers and want to treat myself.

So please tell me to buy normal jeans and to ignore the urge to buy skinny ones!!

Don't listen - how the heck would any of these people know how you will look. I'm not a skinny jeans evangelist (I know I am beginning to sound like one ), but I am extremely pleasantly surprised at how good they do look on me. Don't let people with negative (and if I may say, ignorant, given they have not clapped eyes upon you in a pair) put you off.

No I do think they will look daft.

Just wanted to dress a bit better now I'm not pg.

at least go & try them on .

ThePellyandMe · 13/01/2009 10:12

I can't wear them, I'm a bit bottom heavy. I'm size 14 but think parsnip

You should try them on though definitely, if you,ve got slim legs they could work really well.

Worth trying on a few different styles I guess, see what feels good on. We all need a confidence boost post-pregnancy.

I thought that for ages after I had dd. My shape has really changed (not just because of the extra weight), and things I would have gone for pre-baby just don't look good any more. I'm finding myself wearing (and looking relatively nice) in things I would NEVER have bought before.

Don't let people tell you you can't wear things when they have never even seen you. There's no harm in trying things on -even if they do look rubbish! It's ten minutes in a changing room at the end of the day.

I'll have a look at them but I don't think they will look any good.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Don't be browbeaten into not trying them though as you never know. Wear other things you think might go with them and I hope you come out of the changing room feeling like a gorgeous mama!
