im fed up of looking very mummsy im only 28 ive lost weight since having kids although my boobies too lol. I just want to look a bit more stylish, sexy and polished without breaking the bank.I havent a clue what basics i need.

You should got to Top Shop and see one of their personal shoppers. They're really good. You don't have to spend anything if you don't want to but give them a budget and tell them what you need and they'll sort you out. I think most of their big stores have them now.

Basics are always:
jeans - skinny if pos
cami tops for layering
dresses in jersey or knit (to be worn alone with thick tights, or over jeans)
Great coat (check out zara sale)
Fitted jacket (ditto)
Chunky heeled shoes
flat boots

I agree that topshop is a great place to start and, personally, I would not go really any cheaper than this. If you are wanting 'capsule' items, they need to be good quality, you can accessorise with cheaper bits in needed.
