Ds is 2.8, dd is 8m and I seem to spend too much time on my hands and knees. Jeans from Next (£20 - £25) only last about 3 months before they go through at the knees. verdict please

I have the same problem and got through ..no kidding ...eight pairs of jeans last year from expensive italian to tesco cheapest.

So i have decide to go with some 70's credit crunch chic and just patch the dam knees.

How about two or three different colour denim patches?

do you think a 40 something could get away with it OR will i look like a demented oversized toddler?

zanz1bar · 11/01/2009 21:53

I think the problem for me is my height.
I am 6 foot and most trousers /jeans are cut with the knee in the wrong place 9i have a very long femur bone..hip to knee)so i think the fabric is streched too much.

Oh the search for the perfect jean goes on and on and on and on.....

Zanzibar - you will look demented
patch them on the inside, then all that shows on the outside is the 'scar' where the edges meet, which is acutally quite now if you look at the 'distressed' jeans about atm.

I DD4(2.2)has jeans that have been passing down from her 3 silings + 2 cousins and they still have not got holes in. Sil bought them in France where she lives, maybe a trip to calais would be cheaper for you? Also these jeans are now about 12 years old and the quality might have gone down a bit in the last few years, even there.

zanzibar. I am a hobbit so I don't think it's the height that causes the knee problem

Ah ha... I'm not the only one with the knee patch idea.
My vet has patched knees.
Lets start a craze.

I had the same problem with my jeans then I found UNIQLO
They are cheap strong denim and great cut
I go for the skinny straight and they are very slimming too
Perfect jeans I bought 3 pairs
