Everyday clothes for warm weather ... i am in a style vacuum

So, what would you SAHMs wear in warm weather - i am looking for stylish and practical (live in the middle of the country) and "ohh, she always looks nice", but the weather down under is currently too warm for boots and jumper dresses. Oh - and no skinny jeans - i am too fat for skinny anything. Help! I feel soooo frumpy.

I'm in NZ at the moment and, although not terribly stylish, am probably more sympathetic to your plight than mumsnetters struggling with temperatures of -10 .

Do you suit skirts? I find them a life saver. They just look so much more like you've made an effort than jeans (particularly for the less skinny amongst us). A few nice skirts (I favour just below the knee & slightly flarey) with some plain t-shirts - flipflops (I've just bought some lovely bronzey coloured havainas (sp?)). Few nice necklaces. Sunglasses. Jobs a good 'un. I also like dresses which can be surprisingly flattering (although I do tend to wear my tummy hugging knickers underneath). And a new combo I was trialling yesterday - shorts just below the knee with a sheer kaftan type beach top from Monsoon.

I did buy all these clothes in England as NZ fashion shops are a bit 'style challeged' . Must be better in Oz?

Not in Oz, but I am a fellow NZer (well, kind of). You're right, NZ is style challenged and i think that's the problem. I'd like to wear a dress in the daytime, but Farmers just isn't doing the job!
