Changing from one handbag to another.

Is there a secret to this that I haven't mastered? I am thinking along the lines of maybe an inner pouch which holds all the rubbish essentials which would make changing accessories easy. When I decide to take a different bag I invariably forget to transfer something essential. Such as concealer on a spotty day. The other option, duplicates of everything, is a real pain too.

Maybe we can compile a list of 'handbag essentials'. I can then make sure I take the necessary items everywhere.

Stylish and organised ladies - any tips?

It's not as plasticky looking in RL. The coating does make it good for wet weather though (preety much a given given we're in the UK).

NomDePlume · 08/01/2009 17:20

NP, mine is plain black leather. No twee doggy embroidery stuff, no weird dangly bits. Just well made, nice leather and with a rather attractive turquoise lining.

nailpolish · 08/01/2009 17:21

hmm i might go and fondle one and see if i like it. i love the colours

where did you buy it?

MrsSeanBean · 08/01/2009 17:21

Does anyone else find tatty bits of paper in their bag with cryptic things written on ~

  • Post Office
  • Pino
  • Car registration number (not one of mine)
  • Report to Stobarts

~ is one such example of mine

i bought my friend a radlye passport holder for her xmas, it was quite sweet, she loved it

nailpolish · 08/01/2009 17:23

my bag is full of polly pocket clothes, hair bobbles, imperial mints, and shopping lists

NomDePlume · 08/01/2009 17:24

DH bought the Orla online for me.

MrsSeanBean · 08/01/2009 17:25

I think the registration number and 'report to Stobarts' may have been linked - vague memory coming back of 38 ton lorry on narrow country lane.

I cleared mine out yesterday. Mine now contains

Mobile phone
2009 diary (covered in gorgeous hot pink chinese silk)
Purse
Keys
Comb
Tub of carmex lip balm
Security pass for work
Ipod and car converter gadget

I binned about 4000000 receipts and assorted bits of fluff, tampons that have burst from their wrapper at one end and whatnot

nailpolish · 08/01/2009 17:27

It will be totally buggered by the weekend. All the bits of crap I removed are now in my car. My car is like a giant madwomans handbag .

nailpolish · 08/01/2009 17:31

yes but sometimes i put my card in it too - so has to be big enought for that

nailpolish · 08/01/2009 17:31

dh calls the car the "mobile skip"

NomDePlume · 08/01/2009 17:32

NP, I bet mine beats yours in the gross stakes. DH refuses to drive mine

nailpolish · 08/01/2009 17:34

its the shite that accumulates under the car seats thats the grossest part

NomDePlume · 08/01/2009 17:34

DD hasn't helped by making those plastic peg pictures that your iron to make them stick together, what are they called, at her childminder. She brings them home in the car but they end up broken into bits and liberally spread all over the place.
