Give me a waist, God damn it.

I'm reasonably slim (size 12) but my ribs seem to go straight down to my hips without going in at all, iyswim. I have learnt to accept that I am not going to be able to achieve a waist through natural means [martyred emoticon] but wondered if anyone can recommend some contraption that will help me cheat it? I've tried Spanx (holds everything in but doesn't really create a waist if you haven't got one) and lycra cincher things that seem to roll over and turn into a sausage shape after five minutes. Anything else?

Try empire line tops and dresses and emphasize your boobs instead. If you have no waist - I haven't either - perhaps it's time to accept it and move on!

lalalonglegs · 06/01/2009 22:22

Not ready to accept it, minko. I want magic pants .

I have a waist cincher, one of the ones with clasps up it.

MrsMerryHenry · 06/01/2009 22:24

Have your lower ribs removed. Then thread some elastic through your skin, going all the way around your waist...and...PULL!!!

CarGirl · 06/01/2009 22:24

corset?

TWINSETinapeartree · 06/01/2009 22:24

This is the one I have

TWINSETinapeartree · 06/01/2009 22:26

I also despite being much fatter than you, infact being a 12 yu are not fat but you know what I mean ... anyway I wear shaped, tailored clothing that gives the waist I once had.

lalalonglegs · 07/01/2009 09:24

Ooooh, Twinset, that looks the business. I shall try that and also, following MrsMerryHenry's advice, source a good butcher's saw and some industrial rolls of sticky tape.

they don't do them in my size

TWINSETinapeartree · 07/01/2009 18:11

really 12 is quite a standard size , lots of other stockists just google the product.

CarGirl · 07/01/2009 18:14

I've got size 8 hips, 10ish bust and pretty much a size 12 waist so would need small I reckon? I'm really short do you think it may just ride up/down and not work?

TWINSETinapeartree · 07/01/2009 18:18

I thought you had typed a ten inch bust and I was thinking what an odd woman!

I am quite short in the body, ony 5'2" in all and it works on me. I cant wear it under a very slinky dress though as sometimes it shows.

CarGirl · 07/01/2009 18:20

I shall go for a hunt. It seem that if you are generally petite these place don't realise that you still get fat & flabby bits that would look better disguised!

oooh link added to favs, thanks twinset
