I look at my hair and all I can see are split ends. I can't afford a haircut at the moment. Any ideas what else I can do?

What kind of hairstyle do you have? I've got long hair and have been know to trim my hair myself. Could you do this? Otherwise, there's nothing that can repair split ends, I'm afraid...

Do you live anywhere near a training salon? You could have a free or very cheap hair cut.

the hairdresser that visited my friend (she had long hair) told her to twist her hair above her head in a tight, twisty knot and snip off the last inch. This effectively trims straight or layered hair.

You could dye your hair with a home dye kit and whilst it won't get rid of your split ends, you won't be able to see them.

Haaa. That's why I can see them!!! I did it last night so can see them all now.

I've been going through them with ds's scissors. It's going to take ages.

I'll look in the phone book or wait until I get paid and find a hairdresser that is cheaper than the one I normally go to.

Thanks for the help.

I'm off to bed. Goodnight and sweet dreams.
