I'm the wrong shape [she wails]

been trying to find a dress - I want a dress for the summer. But the waist is always at least 3 in too high. Why am I the wrong shape? Am I doomed always to wear separates? Not fair.

What am I doing wrong?!

I don't know, what are your measurements? hopefully bumping this up will bring someone more helpful along
