Hair Advice: Root lift (Think Cheryl Cole!!)

I have fine hair, mid/long length and I really want a bit lift to the roots, very 60s but more subtle - like Cheryl Cole often sports.

How do I achieve it? I hate products so would rather use as little as possible.

Backcombing??

big rollers?

BibiThree · 02/01/2009 16:18

lots of backcombing which will damage your hair more than products. I have very fine hair and can get some lift with a volumising root spray, a BIG rounf brush to blow dry then some velcro rollers until I'm ready to go. Doesn't last all night though.

some good how-to videos here

I love backcombing my hair but it's a nightmare the following day and it looks messy which is a good look sometimes but I want an everyday big root look. Any shampoos or mousse/sprays that REALLY WORK?

Doesn't Cheryl Cole have extensions etc to maintain that look?

tony and guy mousse is good for sprying onto roots then drying hair upside down

You can do it with very big rollers especially on the crown but you need some styling products to make it stay put

I use Tigi superstar. Very good for everyday look (only need a little bit too, so bottle lasts for ages)

woo, thanks ladies. I'll try boofing my hair up in each and every way and see which works and lasts
