Boden silk georgette trimmed top. Is it really handwash only? Really?

I'm never sure with washing instructions if they're hysterical or sensible so I thought I'd ask you Boden-wearing middle class lot

I got one in the sale - cotton top with silk georgette trim on the neckline. I like it, it was cheap and looks quite nice on but it says handwash only. Has anyone ever washed one? I can't be doing with a cotton top that needs handwashing so if that's the case, it's going back.

should be fine to wash as delicate (to be on the safe side)

I pop mine in the machine (never thought to read the instructions ) but luckily all is well!

I had one of these, and yes, the trim did fall apart eventually. I never washed it on delicated tho', so would next time around (except that it never gets rid of toddler snot on shoulders )

But I did get it in the sale and thought 'life's too short' ...

LOL I thought the georgette trim was suppposed to be twisted! Am such a slattern but really do believe that life's too short for handwashing such tops.

I wash many of our Mini Boden 'handwash only' items in the machine (delicate/wool cycle), and they come out fine.

Am a bit peeved at Boden at the mo, problems with 2 orders I made (wrong/no item sent etc). Am very GGRRR this morning.

Thanks very much. I never put anything on the delicate cycle but perhaps I should. I think I'll start with that and then when it starts going a bit bobbly, will shove it in with everything else. Life is definitely too short to handwash cotton tops. It's a bit of a bunting and cupcake thing to do I think

I washed mine on delicate cycle fine (might even have gone in with the main lot, at 40 degrees, but on a slightly reduced spin (have super-spin on my machine, though, so reduced is till about 1200rpm)

All was fine until the day I forgot it was in the wash and it got chucked in with the other stuff in the dryer... Is still ok, but the silk trim is looking a little on the sorry side...

I put things like this in a net laundry bag to put them in the machine on delicate cycle. Helps keep the trims etc from getting tangled up with anything else.
