Help need a new coat which doesn't make me look like Michelin man

I'm looking for a new coat that's warm, has a hood and doesn't make me look even bigger than I am. I'm 5'6" and a size 14 (in denial) since DD - happier buying Medium than 14! Any suggestions gratefully received.

A HOOD? That is not going to help you look streamlined

I second the hat thing. I can never turn my head wearing a hood, so am always taking it off to cross roads.

How about a 'parka' length with a waist for illusion? That's what I've just got and can't wait to get home and wear it (with a fab hat too!)
