Mascara - one that volumises (but not clumpy) lengthens and goes on nice and smooth - please advise me!

So, yes. Not clumpy, and makes my lashes look really long. Am running low on my virtose by lancome, and wondering if there are any others that I am discounting, when on they could be excellent. So, budget is around £20. Oh and would like it to be one coat everdaywear, 2 coats nighttime glamour.

I have been recommended maybelline great lash mascara, but already have that and don't like it.

My lashes are already not that short, but quite fine.

Benefit - is the best one I've ever used, it's ace.

Max Factor 2000 calories is good. And they were 3 for 2 in Superdrug before Christmas.

Well girls I bought....(drum roll.....) the Estee lauder projectionist one. I just fancied a change from the lancome ones I have been using for years. And I have to admit, to being very pleasently surprised - my eyelashes are postively fluttery and very lonnnng, not clumpy and the brush really gets to those lashes right on the outside of your eye.

The boots offer was fantastic, but I got my Estee lauder mascara for just £6 for a full size brand new in sealed box, off ebay. So you can't go wrong there.

I'll try the estee lauder one next time.

I bought 2 lancome ones in the boots sets with the intension of giving one away for a birthday present.

Defencils and virtuose I think. Not sure which one to keep though

Oooh that is a hard one auntiemaggie!

You could do one eye with one, and one with the other, and see which one looks best

I just got the hypnose in the boots deal as my definicils was quite dry. I prefer the hypnose tbh.

AuntieMaggie · 01/01/2009 14:50

i tried the hypnose last time and found that dry but it might have been because it was the waterproof one.

TBH I think I'm going to have to have a make up trip where I try loads of stuff out as I'm after a new foundation too. I've had my clinique one for about 2 years now and it can't be good.

hercules1 · 01/01/2009 14:54

I keep my makeup fairly near to a radiator and I'm sure that probably doesnt help over time.

Does anyone else find that Lancome mascaras loo great when first applied but then like nothing within a couple of hours? Or is that just that I curl my lashes and the curl drops? Have stuck with Lancome for years too.

AuntieMaggie · 01/01/2009 14:59

One of the things DP got me was the Benefit Bad Gal mascara but it's blue so still need a black one. I tried the black one before but didn't like it for an everyday mascara but can't remember why.

Another fan of Avon SuperShock here. I think its fab, and quite often on special at a fiver!

MrsKrabappel · 01/01/2009 15:12

I got the benefit one for xmas - not as good as dior or Lancome

Jewelsandgems · 01/01/2009 19:11

I have used the benefit one (the one with the bent brush) and though it was good, I found the consistency really oily, and it got really thick in the tube within just a few weeks.

Has anyone tried those beauty tube mascaras?
