7 jeans sizing

Hi!

I am a size 12 normally - according to next this would make me a 28 inch waist. However, when I measured my waist I was more like a 30 inch waist. So when ordering 7 jeans should I be ordering 30inch?

Is a 12 not 30? I am a size 8 and have a 26 in my 7's - they have a bit of stretch in them and after a wear come up a tad bigger. Thought a 10 was 28 ?

how are they for length? Need long jeans but don't know how 7s compare.

i usually wear 28 in diesel but 26 was big in 7's

They do come up long - about 34 inches so I have to have mine shortened.
