Hush puppy shoes are good mine lasted for ages.

cedar12 · 22/12/2008 16:26

I need to get some new ones soon as well and was going to look at the m&s foot glove ones. They are cheaper than hush puppy as well.

McDreamyingofawhiteXmas · 22/12/2008 16:30

I used to wear Doc Martins. They lasted for ages!

IllegallyBrunette · 22/12/2008 16:45

Thanks, will have a look at all of those.

Clarks do some niceish flat black comfy things. My current one are cheap from Asda but very comfy, don't think they still do them though.

ScroogeMacDog · 22/12/2008 17:26

Doc Martins, or try ward walkers??

Brantano did some 'old lady' lace up shoes that were washable and comfy and I cannot for the life of me remember what they were called

tiredemma · 23/12/2008 11:24

Most of the general nurses that I know wear the Footglove ones from Marks and Sparks

Coldtits · 23/12/2008 11:26

Am care assistant, and do 10 / 12 hour nights.

I wear a good pair of black leather all purpose boots - mens, because despite having size 5 feet, they are wide.

ggirlsbells · 23/12/2008 13:04

I have really wide feet, hush puppies are painful ..these are bliss.

ggirlsbells · 23/12/2008 13:06

nellie those birkies look comfy

christmosschops30 · 23/12/2008 13:08

I do 12 hr shifts and wear professional crocs, couldnt live without them, my feet never ache and they are so comfortable and practical, they are usually covered in some bodily fluid or other and I just wipe them clean with alcohol wipes and hey presto.

Cant beat Crocs for work IMHO

IllegallyBrunette · 23/12/2008 13:10

Thanks all, lots of comfy looking ones on those links.

I might have to physically go and buy a pair though because my feet seem to have shrunk in recent years and I am now sometimes a 3 and sometimes a 4.

Have just been given the date of my first shift on the ward , am mega nervous now lol.

I am a student nurse and wasted £30 on some clarks shoes which I wore into uni for two days before being told they were not suitable! GRRRRRRRRR

Actually Matalan have got some good leather flat black shoes with velcro straps on for under £20 and they are great. Bargain!

BikeRunSki · 23/12/2008 17:45

When I was in hospital for 6 weeks with hyperemisis, all the docs, nurses and MWs wore MTBs or Crocs.

louii · 23/12/2008 17:48

I wear Crocs.

I'm heavy on my shoes and wide fitting. Clarks have never let me down. I do 14 hour shifts in these.

geisha · 26/12/2008 13:46

Wear these ones too
