Following on from an old thread:
Old thread
do the 7s jeans really not get the baggy bum?! I don't own a single pair of jeans that keep their shape past one wear (if i'm lucky) and since i wear jeans every day it is really starting to p**s me off

I may have to splash out on a decent pair that actually fit me and use some christmas money.
What makes should I look at and does anyone know of a good place to look in somerset or dorset or am I going to have to try and venture further afield?

Hello. This thread is a little old now and some of the recommendations may be out of date. Whatever style you’re looking for, take a gander at our round-up of Mumsnetters’ favourite jeans for more recent suggestions. MNHQ.

i wear Diesel jeans and find they are the best fitting and flattering..tried 7's and they made my bum look big and they came up big in size and I thought they would probably give too much

joliejolie · 21/12/2008 14:18

I have a pair of True Religion that I love, love, love! They still fit like when I first bought them, but I know some jeans can lose shape.

The best pair I have ever owned are 7's though. They truly do make the best jeans!

Look at HarveyNichols.com because they have a few pairs of their jeans on sale and for a nice discount!

sammysam · 21/12/2008 18:52

Thanks jolie-just had a quick look but they don't have any in the style i'd like

Diesel jeans are awesome, really flattering and keep their shape, I've got two pairs from tk maxx. I also have some seven jeans from there which are my very favourites, they fit perfectly and never ever stretch out of shape.

nkf · 21/12/2008 18:57

I've just bought a pair from the White Stuff. And they are fantastic.

Alfie72 · 21/12/2008 22:13

Nudie jeans are brilliant and trust me no muffin tops in sight

sammysam · 22/12/2008 10:41

oooo this is good! can anyone else point me in the direction of some good jeans!
I'm looking for some lowish (but not too low) bootcut jeans (to try and even out my hips!) that keep their shape and look great and are hopefully not too expensive!
Not asking for too much really am I

do these jeans come up big or true to size?

sammysam · 22/12/2008 11:23

Good question bambi-i've been googling and would like to order online

Well, I bought a pair of 7 jeans about a year ago - they were £130! I did not think they were particularly great so I sent them back. At the time I was also trying to find jeans that did not have the baggy bum effect. Then I tried Topshop jeans and honestly, they were exactly the same fit wise as the 7s and are £80-90 cheaper. I always get my jeans there now - and they don't go baggy at all.

dexter73 · 22/12/2008 11:42

Next have seven jeans reduced up to half price in their online sale. Think it starts on Dec 27th. Worth ordering a few pairs to try.

sammysam · 22/12/2008 11:55

Electra-really-no baggy bum?! Does anyone else find topshop ones good?
Most of my jeans seem to be from next at the mo-they fit me really well in the shop so I buy them and they look good for almost a whole day then i can feel them bagging-which just gets worse as time goes on.
I don't know if my shape makes it worse? I'm a size 12 on the bottom (10 on top), with my hips being the biggest past of my body by far (which makes my bum quite big) and i find with a lot of jeans I'm always hitching them up as they are tight round my bum/thighs but loose around the waist band.

Do you mind me asking what kind of shape everyone else is? Just realised that really I need recommendations from people a similar shape to me

dexter-thank you! Can anyone order on their online sale?

OP posts:
ElectraInExcelsis · 22/12/2008 12:09

Yes, sammysam - for me I find them great. It probably does vary from person to person but I first tried them when reading an article by Victoria Beckham about how good they are, however I did not rate any of her other recommendations!

sammysam · 22/12/2008 12:09

Oh dear god-there are far too many jeans out there
I had no idea next sold makes of jeans-will they all be in the sale?

OP posts:
hotCheeseBurns · 22/12/2008 17:41

Topshop are pretty good yes, and I've heard nice things about oasis jeans too...

sammysam · 22/12/2008 21:17

Now i'm chickening out maybe I should try topshop and meybe diesel first (have seen some on tinternet for £70ish) before spending out a min of £150 for some 7's.
I will try to get some 7's from next-IF they have them reduced and IF i can get the crazy slow dial up to work at my mums-we'll still be there when the sale starts
Last time I tried oasis ones they didn't fit very well-but that could have been quie a few years ago

OP posts:
triffictits · 22/12/2008 22:23

I have some 7's but have the high waisted ones.

Does anybody else find the normal ones just too low cut? Mine fall down everytime I bend down and show all my bum. Believe me that is not an attractive sight!

sammysam · 23/12/2008 13:35

VERY stupid question (but i never order stuff online so haven't really thought about it much before as have just tried stuff on!) but with the sizes where would i measure myself? What size is a 12? [very stupid me]

OP posts:
ElectraInExcelsis · 25/12/2008 00:18

A size 12 is a 30 waist I think...

widgypog · 25/12/2008 09:11

I am the same shape as you sammy and 7's made my jlo bum look bigge. I al usually an 8-10 in jeans and I found 26 in 7's too big but i wear 28's in diesel as they come up quite tight.
Look for Diesel Ronhar on ebay they are the most flattering for hourglass figures imo

widgypog · 25/12/2008 09:11

also you can buy from diesel.com and send them back if they ar no good. i would say you need 30 waist

dexter73 · 25/12/2008 15:42

There is a large 7 for all mankind outlet store at Bicester village which has good reductions.

peanutbuttermarmitetoast · 25/12/2008 21:28

True religion jeans are absolutely brilliant and worth every penny. 7's are ok but TBH a bit done. I also love JBrand. You go get what you pay for in jeans but the best high street ones are definately Top Shop
