okay mumsnet fashion gurus, i neeeeeeed you!! i have now tried on about 15 prs of jeans in town today and that is no easy feat with a toddler......nad i'm about to take back the second pair i bought in desparation....
I cannot find a pair i like on my shape.
i am sz14, i have -unfortunatley- a sticky out tummy from 3 children and a liking for homemade goodies...big hips and a stupidly small waist in comparision to them.
M&S dont make the ones i got last time..and all they DO make looked awful on me. i wont do really tight, weird colours or turn ups.
can you help???????

Yeah, I got those. They're £40 and fit just right. They do different lengths also.

That was my main problem the fact I had a belly and I needed a short length. If you ask the assistants they'll help you out and bring a load for you to try.

topshop do a fab range of denim, great prices too. Everything from skinny styles for rakes and curve-flattering ones for us normal folk . You can see them on the topshop website

lou33 · 25/03/2005 14:06

new look?

NomDePlume · 25/03/2005 14:11

river island ? I find that their tops are quite good for curvy top-halved women, so I guess their trousers might be a good thing to try ?

dramaqueen72 · 25/03/2005 16:08

hm, I'm being extra fussy here ladies, sorry. but having just checked out the topshop ones online, i know i wouldnt like them on as they are too low waisted for me (and my belly)any other ideas...............

NomDePlume · 25/03/2005 19:07

These don't look hipster

NomDePlume · 25/03/2005 19:08

These either

NomDePlume · 25/03/2005 19:09

Debenhams have quite a few higher waisted jeans in their range

Fran1 · 25/03/2005 19:31

I have the same prob as you - big belly.

Nearly resorted to maternity trousers after several failed shopping trips. But then found dorothy perkins jeans, high waisted, i got a size bigger than normally am so they were comfortable around my stomach and just have a tight belt on.

dramaqueen72 · 25/03/2005 19:40

thankyou ladies, NDP those links look good, thankyou lou, i hadnt even thought of new look, will pop in there tomorrow as well....
phew, thankgoodness!! thought i had tired out -and disliked- my towns jeans stock....
