I have an event in June - black tie - which colours/shapes should I be looking for?

This event is usually in January, so I usually wear a prom-style dress (lots of petticoats) in black, or something champagney.

But next time around it is in June, so am totally unprepared for what to go for. I can spend anything up to £400 but I do not want anything that is likely to be worn by anyone else so I do not go to monsoon or debenhams.

Have not checked the fashion magazines for ages, and was wondering if any of you knew what colour firstly, and what styles are hot for S/S. I am 5"8, size 8-10, 30e boobs, long legs, narrowest point waist-wise, is inbetween belly button and boobs (want to look shapely!)

Come fashionistas and advise me! I am very happy to go for something with a high fashion look, instead of just following the crowd.

You might be better posting in a couple of weeks as the stores at the moment are still trying to shift winter stock and spring/summer hasn't come in yet. I haven't seen very much at all yet.

I read in vogue or somewhere, that the colour yellow, neon brights as well as monochrome, pleats, and feathers are on the list. I personally think a one shoulder dress will probably be worth searching out.

Good point heated, I think you are right and samsonara excellent idea re the one shoulder dress

With £400 budget why not have something made to measure?

sueW I don't even now how I would go about that...
