Help me find a dress to celebrate my birthday!

Hiya, I'm trying to find a dress for around £50 but if it is stunning can spend up to £100.

I'm 25 so going out with girls to a club to celebrate. I have loads of dresses already, but want to get something new! Dresses I have tend to be square neck (sleeveless) / book tube and just above the knee. I always wear killer heels

I'm 5ft2, with chunky thighs but don't mind getting below the knee out, have bigish boobs (34EE), quite a flat tum, sort of curvy I suppose. I wear a size 12/14 normally depending on where I shop.

I've look in oasis and warehouse my 2 safe shops and nothing is doing.

HELP!!!!! pls xx

How about a one shoulder dress, River Island have a blue one, I can't seem to link to it, it goes to the main shop, but you could do a search.

This is over your budget but sounds like it may be in your style comfort zone

green silk ted baker dress

navyeyelasH · 16/12/2008 20:41

Ohh I love the ted baker dress! What shoes though? Also do you think the back might be clingy Is £130 too much for a dress..? HMM

DO you think something corest-y on top then semi puffy ish on the bottom could suit my figure?

There was a 20% voucher for ted baker knocking around a while ago. You might be able to find a code online.

Jewelsandgems · 16/12/2008 20:50

Navy that dress is perfect. I did see it, but did not know if you could stretch another £50 - but I think if you can then you should!

navyeyelasH · 16/12/2008 20:50

On the xfactor did you notice the girls with big boobs wore very particular boob tube style dresses. Not flat across the chest but more shaped like this one Ruth wore.

I'm not so keen on the actual dress but the shape of the boob part is lovely. Anyone seen anything similar?

Ebay is a good bet, but it's so time consuming wading through the rubbish!

(I heart Debenhams, btw)

or a gold one?!

navyeyelasH · 16/12/2008 21:03

Are these dresses the same?? sooma from ted baker site v's ted baker via ASOS.

I do love it but it's black, was looking for something a bit more adventurous. So tricky.

blametheparents thanks will have a quick look! There is even a Ted Baker in my town so can even try it on b4 buy it if don't find anything else!

Thank you thank you thank you for the help, keep it coming!

thanks WWYAGC they are all really nice but my boobs cause major problems when dress shopping!

The first one will gape and be very cleavage-y, men will address my bosoms all night! And halter necks tend to give me what I think are manly shoulders [cry]

Have now tried, house of Fraser, Debenhams, ASOS, cult, new look, flaunt fashions, bows botique, rise fashion, USC, designer desirables, all saints...

phase eight have some lovely dresses in.

cornsilk · 16/12/2008 21:54

here

cornsilk · 16/12/2008 21:58

This is lovely on - I tried it on but they only had the red in my size and I fancied the black and white. Covers lumps and bumps nicely here

cornsilk · 16/12/2008 21:58

Just realised my links don't work - doh!

navyeyelasH · 16/12/2008 22:10

Have also tried, Liberty, top shop, John Lewis, french connection, Karen Millen (who had 1/2 semi nice ones), Coast, phase eight, A Wear, republic, Hobbs (??!?!), Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Monsoon,

I think I like this one bot not totally sure?

Please please don't make me have to go to a shop and rummage around with hoards of others!

navyeyelasH · 16/12/2008 22:11

Cornsilk, I can see one called Marla dress? It's possible a bit too sophisticated for me What was the other one? Thanks very much for you help, I'm getting desperate!

weWITCHyouaGigglechristmas · 17/12/2008 00:28

they look pretty identical to me (AKA spot the difference etc)

btw have you tried Oasis? some nice stuff...

blinks · 17/12/2008 00:38

they're the same

navyeyelasH · 17/12/2008 12:07

Well that saved £50 then! Bargain, going to try it on in the shop today. Another I have found which I'm umming and ahhing over is this

Never heard of this store before though, does anyone know what it's like? Seems too cheap?

Jewelsandgems · 17/12/2008 21:34

Sorry navy yes, same definately. And that silver dress is divine too - I think the neckline on the strapless would be more flattering to boobs, but the silver one is such fun, you feel like a total fairy princess (in a good way)

navyeyelasH · 18/12/2008 19:53

The dress ca0e t6day and '0 n6t 36v5ng 5t

t's great 6n b66bs and wa5st, but look so so bad from back; not at all flattering. I tried it on with regular knickers and bra am wonering if there is something to cinch me in at back.

My back is definately the worst part of me, I think it's cos my bum is slightly peachy and the "curves" sort of blend in when they don't have boobs to frame them?

I think it's the pleats they start on top of bum and the dress is not as full as it looks in the picture. Maybe net underskirt might help?

HMM any tips ladies??

What about a belt, could that have any benefit from the rear do you reckon?
