Eurostar perfume review request

Has anyone out there tried "Tubereuse Criminelle" by Serge Lutens?

I generally love tuberose, from the (relatively) demure to one favourite which a friend has assured me is a scent for wannabe transvestites. The Lutens gets rave reviews but they are all from perfume fanatics and I wonder if said fanatics are the olfactory equivalent of people who adore offal. Would normal people like this?

It's not available in the UK but I am so intrigued and love tuberose so much, I am thinking that I may just order it blind.

Les Senteurs sell Serge Lutens perfume, but they don't have this one. I don't think I would buy it unsmelled, as it were, as it is supposed to smell like Vick's when it first goes on!

Do you like Fracas, if you like Tuberose? I loathe Fracas, but do wear another Robert Piguet one called Bandit.

Thank you for replying - I only just discovered this tonight.

Yes, i read about the Vicks thing. Bizarrely, I find it just more compellingly incuriousating (not a real word but I feel something like that is called for,) because of that. You know; like in a horror movie where the heroine stands outside the spooky house all of her friends have gone into, and none have come out of, and wonders what she's missing out on.

Yes, I do like Fracas; I'm definitely promiscuous when it comes to tuberose. Though it's true I don't love the big F as much as some other tuberoses. Hmmm. I'd be sad if TC turned out to be a Fracas.

I think that should be "encuriousating".

Ah so you are a Tuberose Slut!
My perfume of choice at the moment is Lux by Mona di Orio (only available at Les Senteurs and Liberty as DH discovered today!). Also wear Chanel 22 and Vol de Nuit (Guerlain) and flirt periodically with Annick Goutal's Eau du Sud and Eau d'Hadrien.

Hurrah! A fellow perfume addict! I too know where "Les Senteurs" is - it's brilliant isn't it?

I haven't tried Lux - I'm intrigued now.

Happy Christmas!

Go and ask them for a sample - it smells like sherbet lemons when it first goes on. I love it!

Have a fragrant Christmas!
