UGG Cardy's - yes, no, where can i get em cheap (ish)?

I just love em, am currently watching a pair of grey ones on ebay which are still only £50 with a day to go. Will they last the distance, style wise? Am I a fool to spend out so much on boots for them to be sooo 'last year' when I wear them in ernest over xmas and into next year?

i started a thread yesterday about a website i had found that seemed really cheap, but turned out they were fakes.
how can you be sure the ones you are watching are real?
i went to new york last weekend and nowhere had them, everywhere had sold out, i was gutted.

i read a guide on telling real from fake - i will try to find it.

said something about the real ones have soft flexible soles, plus the UGG logo and tread bit are textured - on fakes the soles are rigid and the print on the sole is flat. There is more, but can't remember now....
