God, my black number with the fur-edged hood is depressing me now spring seems to be here. But I need something for rainy days with the pram. Where might I find something to lift my spirits?

Is this is, bodenmum? Not bad .... but I prefer this! - no hood of course! I'm sure in the 1960s they did lovely pretty little A-line macs with hoods - they'd be just the thing now!

Is this it, that should be

franch · 25/03/2005 12:56

Oh - and I keep seeing them everywhere for little girls! I need to shrink!

per una has mac style jackets with hoods. plain coloured, lightly dapped and no furring on the hoods. saw them yesterday in town and thought of you, franch!

aloha · 25/03/2005 14:19

Orla Kiely does cute rain hats.

aloha - I think I might have to go for a rain hat - saw one on the Joules site too.

tassis, I had a look at the per una jackets online here - there are a couple of beigey numbers with hoods, which are OK but still not enough to lift my mood - did you see anything prettier?

Agh, didn't see this till today. Did you see any with hoods? Tried to find the piece on the Times website but no luck - can you give me an idea of the headline or any keywords that might help?

Just chased up Boden about this as I'd received no reply. Got the following from customer services:

"Please rest assured that your request has been passed on to our design team
and, will be looked at seriously. We really do appreciate feedback from our
customers - we modify our designs every season, and customer comments are
often the force that drives these changes.

We really appreciate the time you have taken to send in your email and, I
hope we can make some positive changes in the future.

If we can be of any more help, please let us know."

The email address is [email protected] if anyone else wants to add their voice to my appeal!

LOOK! LOOK! LOOK! Follow-up email from Boden:

"Thank you for your email.

I have checked with our designers and, I'm happy to say we are including
such a Mac in our upcoming Autumn range. We are planning on launching our
Autumn range mid July. If you let me know your address, I can place you on
our catalogue mailing list.

We will look forward to your reply and, if we can be of any more help,
please let us know."

Continuing the search as the rains return ....

Boden a big disappointment, the jacket wasn't very Bodeny at all, more of a brightly coloured hiking jacket than something for the girl about town (that's me )

Can't believe I'm still looking a year and a half on, one baby later ...

this saga is v sad - I've given up and wear a hat

(although if you have a perfectly servicable raincoat whose only fault is the hood falls in your eyes and blinds you, try wearing a baseball cap underneath it. Remarkably effective and not as ugly as you might think. Best if in a colour matching the coat though.)
