.....this is turning into a very weird thread

I think father christmas is bringing me some uggs from oz but I now feel guilty for not asking for the celtic ones especially if it really is an american company -maybe father christmas will have to take them back and change them

Rafaella · 21/12/2008 22:51

I bought some Emus from TK Maxx and they were lovely for about 5 mins but in no time have done that horrible turned in at the ankles thing cheap ugg type boots do. A waste of money - ok for taking the compost out in the cold though

TheBlonde · 21/12/2008 23:09

Ugg Australia boots are made in NZ not China

kettlechip · 23/12/2008 21:24

This is a weird thread. I wouldn't touch getugg with a bargepole.

My real Ugg Australia boots are made in China - check out the guides to spotting fakes and it should say that they moved production to China a couple of years back so if you look on the labels now (check some in a proper department store so you know they're real) they clearly state inside that they are made in China.

God, I have turned into such an Ugg geek. Once conned by some ebay fakes, never again..

I bought cardy uggs from getugg.com and received them within 2 weeks. They looked real and my daughter was pleased with them although they did not fit. I requested to have them replaced and they gave me the address in china to return them. I did this and sent them royal mail international signed for on 5.1.09. I still have no boots and they obviously still have my money!!! I have corresponded with them via email but they are reluctant to reply and have only done so on a few occasions saying they haven't got them and lots of other excuses. I have now requested the post office track the parcel and check it was signed for. Has anyone had the same or similar problem?? Not sure what to do next. Any suggestions ?

thanks

garbs, thats awful for you

the ones i ordered were too small for me, but i put it down to my noy knowing what size to order and geting it wrong. i ordered a size down and they were too small. thankfully i managed to sell them to a friend who was very plessed with them.

i hope you manage to get your money back or more boots.

Garbs, not sure if you can pursue this through your credit card if you paid that way, or whether that would only apply if the goods hadn't arrived in the first place. Might be worth a quick call to Citizens Advice as they can advise you on your rights.

Now waiting for the next illiterate poster to come on to defend getugg again..

I find all of this argy-bargy about Uggs quite hilarious. I grew up in Australia where they were considered fashion death, to be worn by westies and molls only (back in the 70s/ early 80s)
Of course I now live in mine, need to keep my feet toasty in these chillier climes!!!

Anyhoo ... read this blog the other day and while I personally won't be wearing anything other than my beloved Aussie uggs (which I pay peanuts for when I go home on holiday tee hee) thought maybe the link the blogger mentions might be of help/ use to some of you?

hjagdev · 01/06/2009 00:59

Hi, I purchased three pairs of uggs from getuggs and the material was fraying so i email and asked for a refund, sent the boot to an address in chain and ive emailed them and they keep saying my manager on holiday i refund the money when she returns and then excuses from there i been waiting for a refund for six months now.

savoycabbage · 01/06/2009 03:39

There are lots of sites that sell good quality ugg boots that are not Deckers.

Within Australia Uggs are sheepskin boots no matter who manufacturers them. There was a whole trademark hoo haa where some bloke registered the name UGG and UGG Australia. The Australian ugg manufacturets took him to court and he lost. It would be like trying to register 'wellington' and then everybody saying that these wellingtons were fake as they hadn't been made by the man who registered the name.

So, Deckers make Uggs and they are referred to as 'real' uggs by The Americans. In Australia Deckers tall ugg boots are AU$279 which is about AU$100 more than any other brand of uggs. If you are buying non-deckers uggs tahn try and get ones with a 'Eva' sole.

Hmm
missmelly · 15/08/2009 15:51

agree re Uggs being fashion death! they were the butt of many many jokes back in the days. I still think they're bloody ugly footwear

Jewelsandgems · 15/08/2009 20:37

liz after reading all the posts I think it is worth staying away from that site. By the sounds of it, anyone having problems with them seems to be have problems getting refund/exchange and I find that worrying to say the least.

I have the real thing bought from a shop and they are still in excellent condition (nearly 3 years old) I also have an Asda pair which I use as slippers and I think I would rather buy something like those, from Asda, Next/whoever, then buy from a site like getugg. BTW the asda ones are really good! No going over on heel or anything (Mind you, they are just slippers, so who knows after doing alot of walking in them!)

Go to the Schuh website, which have them in stock, and buy with confidence.

i heard about www.get-ugg.com cheap and also fast delivery

www.ukuggboot.com also same

grace2008 · 05/09/2009 21:25

I got a pair of uggs last winter from getugg.com, i compared them to a friends who bought from the geniune ugg store and could not see a difference, they are still in great condition. I love mine. I did just try the web site however and it was not available!

Elemental · 05/09/2009 21:51

I heard something on the radio the other day about genuine Ugg people working with customs, and how they destroy any fake Uggs they find. They said that ANY website with Ugg in the title except the official one is a seller of fakes.
