Control pants - surrender or a necessary evil?

I've never been able to bring myself to use them. I just feel like it would be saying (to the flab) OK - you win.

I think I'd rather not wear really close fitting stuff until I've managed to get my arse to the gym again.

I realise this may condemn me to a life of baggy clothing though.

But at least by not using them (and giving myself a false sense of thin-ness) I still have a 'motive' don't I...?

Or is it just me?

Get some spanx, then aim to get to the gym so you can look as good with them off as on.

They're fab and meake you feel lots more confident.

I have 3 pairs!Including a pair that come up to my bosom and down to mid-thigh!

I don't think they give me a sense of thin-ness........just a sense of smoothing the bumps out! They make me look more streamlined.

TsarHumbug · 10/12/2008 11:35

But even people who are all toned up still wear them as I understand it. I'm sure Madonna or other famous women with otherwise good bums have been wearing them.

They make people with toned bums look even better and those of us with more er..relaxed muscles look bearbale. Either way it's win win.

I do think they look awful though and try not to let dh see me in them So I do a bit of a gypsy Rose-Lee act in whipping them off.

i don't know why it took me so long to get round to wearing them! it really makes a difference to my shape...everything is smoother. thing is wobbly bits...will they always be wobbly no matter how fit you are IYKWIM?

MrsSeanBean · 10/12/2008 13:32

Madonna in control pants?!! Do they make them small enough?

I wear them for special occasions when I have to wear a dress or whatever. I wouldn't wear them on a daily basis, though.

ggirlsbells · 10/12/2008 13:38

I wear the spanx super-strength-give-up-you-fat-cow ones.
But tbh if they are strong enough to hold in my gut below the waist they then give me an unattractive bulge above the waist. So I wear a size too big and kid myself that I look lithe and gorgeous.
I refuse to wear the nipple to knee jobs unless seriously trying on a night out or someting-never for day to day wear

ggirlsbells · 10/12/2008 13:40

wtf am I on about..I wear sloggi not spanx these
