Bikini Line Wax question

I'm not normally a shrinking violet but I have had my bikini line waxed for the first time. Normally just have eyebrows but had legs & bikini line done. When she did my bikini line I actually left the be she had to go over it 7 times yes ladies 7 times then just as I thought I might die of wmbarasssment she said because you are dark haired the hair is coarser so takes many times in differetn directions. Ok I thought then she turned round with tweezers in her hand and plucked for a good 10 minute (felt like longer).

Is this normal or have i stumbled on a sick individual who does this for fun.

For the record I will never ever ever even consider a brazilian after this!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes it hurts and sometimews a long process....
never had mine plucked though...

As someone who is about to go and get hers done this afternoon, sounds reasonable to me. Was this the first time? The more you have it done, less hair grows back eventually. My therapist usually gets her tweezers out for the odd stray hair or two!!!

if the hair is long they usually cut it first just so its easier for the wax to work, they usually use tweezers after just to tidy up and get rid of any stray hairs. i usually use home waxing kits now - the pre waxed strips are very easy to use and work out alot cheaper.

I told my best friend about it and she thought it was hilarious. It did't actually hurt once she had finished and when I got outside I was PMSL.

the funniest was when i was waiting to get mine done when i used to go to hairdressers and a really FIT bloke walked out in a suit all professional and stuff. the woman who does the waxing called me in and could see id been looking at this bloke. she then took great delight in telling me he'd had a back, sack and crack and was as gay as they come!!

It's SO worth it, though! A good tech will do a lot of preparation work the first time so the hair comes off in one go. I've been having Brazilians since long before they were fashionable and it doesn't hurt much at all now.

I was going to have it done the day before my wedding as a bit of an extra surprise for DH to be on wedding night (sorry tmi)

Am having to rethink.

how do you stop ingrowing hairs though ? thats what always put me off about having one done. a friend had it all off and had so many ingrowing ones that it ended up looking ugly down there instead of nice
i just keep it nice and tidy. too risky t ohave it all off if it ends up like hers

just keep it well moisturised and you ll be fine

If you are not a regular waxer, I wouldn't recommend having it done the day before your wedding. Until your skin gets used to it, it can be quite red and sore for a few days.

I use a product called 'TendSkin' before waxing and don't get ingrown hairs. I get it at Harvey Nick's but I'm pretty sure you can get it online.

she shouldn't have went over the same area so many times with fresh wax-- no more than twice. but it is normal to use the used wax strip a few times to get all the hair up. Tweezers are normally used after to get stuborn/ stray hairs. pubic hair normally grows in different directions so you would have to use alot of different strips and or different directions of pulling up strip. dark hair is coarser than light hair and curly hair can be stuborn.

Quick q on this topic. Once I got round to it after DD was born I shaved my bikini line but now have what I think are ingrowing hairs that I can't get rid of. What do I do about this? Would like to get it sorted so that I can go get it waxed.

there is a cream that immac do for ingrowing hairs that i use and also tweezers and a needle, just to get any easy ones out. i also got a body scrub which apparently helps to ease the hairs out

I've given up with bikini waking as the ingrowing hairs were so bad, despite exfoliating daily & rubbing in that hair softener cream daily too. I shave now & don't have any problem.

But I did shave and ended up with this. Have got an appt with doctor on Thurs but it seems to have cleared up a bit. Might just talk about contraception instead.
