can anyone find me some stylish boots that can be worn with anything... they must be calf lenght and with a lowish heel...

I'm going into town tomorrow and can't for the life of me think of the names of any shoe shops to look on line, and I also need to be able to try them of as my size differs..

thanks

Clarks are good and they have a sale on now.

zenandtheartofbaking · 09/12/2008 22:47

I hate to say it, but you may well be looking for the same elusive something we're all looking for. It's more difficult than finding someone to have children with.
I think that's why no-one has replied.

I think you should put on the outfit that you most like wearing/are likeliest to wear with your (new) boots - put on make-up, do your hair and prepare for a long haul around the shops.

The loveliest boots (good quality leather, stylish, etc) tend to be really expensive. It might be a good idea to start with River Island, New Look and Office and widen your search from there.
I know this post isn't helpful but felt I had to answer because I read your other thread and ... I've been there ... I sense your despair.

Maybe someone else will leap into the fray now, with more positive advice.

I like schuh.

Am currently trying to get my head around the current fashion for wearing trousers tucked into boots (yes yes I know I'm behind the times but hey! at least I'm trying ) This means skinny jeans only I think. Which makes things complicated.

RumMum · 09/12/2008 22:56

thanks jataob... I think you've hit the nail on the head.. thing is... I've just seperated from dh or should that be just h, and I need to find me again, IYKWIM ... I feel I need to find my style, which went out the window when the kids were born, about 12 years ago... I never wear dresses or skirts, but I want to, I thought that by having some nice boots that went with everything would be a good starting point..

cheers

Can i join you in a locomotion-type hunt for the perfect pair of boots! I live in trousers and want a decent pair so I can discover my legs again (covered up in tights of course!).

tis no good waiting until the 'sales', everything in a size 6 gets snapped up.

zenandtheartofbaking · 09/12/2008 23:02

I think we should bump your thread until someone about more ... clueful ... (shoe-cluefell? as opposed to shoeless-clueless like me) ... answers.

zenandtheartofbaking · 09/12/2008 23:11

Where are they? the legions of mn-ers who know about boots? Off somewhere at a boot -appreciation party no doubt, where they all sit around, nibbling complicated food, sipping wine and comparing footwear.

zenandtheartofbaking · 09/12/2008 23:18

No-one.
Rubbish.
OK - this thread did a quick run through of current boot-options.
suggest shoes or boots to go with this dress

dublinmom · 09/12/2008 23:48

Loved your comment about the boot-appreciation party zen. I feel like I'm out of the loop and just don't 'get' how this boot thing works, and am trying to not get too depressed over not finding any that will zip up over my calves.

Maybe it all shows I'm just not qualified to wear boots. That's why I didn't get invited to the party. Would spill wine and complicated food all over myself.
