Nice, flattering outfit for Size 14

My sister who has always been a size 10 has put a bit of weight on recently and is now a size 14, although I know this isn?t big, she feels a little uncomfortable with it and is stuck for what to wear for her Christmas work party and also New Years Eve party. Both are relatively relaxed occasions so something casual with a hint of smart would suit. Any suggestions for her? She?s a bit shorter than me so I?d say about 5ft 6 and a size 14. She wants something that will ideally flatter her and hide her belly a bit.

What shape is she?
eg apple, pear etc

jeangenie · 09/12/2008 11:34

very dark jeans (new look do some gorgeous ones - shimmy I think are called - for about £20) some good funky heels to make her feel glamourous and a slinky but not skimpy top

CountessDracula · 09/12/2008 11:34

would she wear a dress?

Zebraa · 09/12/2008 11:42

She's an hourglass I'd say. Yeah she would wear a dress but she wants classy, flattering stuff, she wouldn't wear anything too revealing.

I think she's crazy because she's only 23 and lovely and has a good shape but you can't tell her for toffee!

I'll suggest dark jeans, see what she says.

I'll show her that dress, I think it's lovely myself.

This would be v.flattering.

As would this for something more glam.

ggirlsbells · 09/12/2008 11:51

oli wrap

Zebraa · 09/12/2008 13:03

She loves the flowery dress Ewe suggested, what kind of shoes do you think?
