I have the little black dress from Zara, I can't fine zara website though to post it on here.

The dress is nipped in at the waist and then flairs out to just above the knee.

This is for a works xmas dinner/dance in a nice hotel.

Also have black shoes with high heel.

Do I wear opaque tights or denier tights or patterned tights?

Fashion experts please help me. Thanks.

I think opaque tights are very 'in' at the moment.
You could always look for pics of similar style dresses and see what kind of tights the model is wearing and whether you like the look.

Thanks, FiveDollarShake.
Opaque tights are in but not sure I will be able to stand the heat at the end of the night in them.
I have tried looking at models in similar style dresses but they seem to be wearing no tights. I need tights to hide my white legs and fat knees, as my gp once described them

Stay-ups?

Patterned tights?

janeite · 07/12/2008 17:03

The dress sounds lovely.

How about purple opaques?

Overmydeadstuffedturkey · 07/12/2008 17:04

Coloured opaques

or patterned

My favourite pair at the moment are some my parents got me form topshop, grey, wool, patterned, like the ones I used to wear as a kid! (maybe not part-wear though!)

stay-ups a good idea but not necessarily after a few drinks when they inexplicably stop staying up .

Patterned tights are a good idea. Might make me a bit different.

Oh, I'm glad you started this thread Colie. Can I also please ask - are fishnet tights a good thing or not? (To go with a black and white dress?)

I think probably not. Too ott?

colie · 07/12/2008 19:27

TsarChasm - had been thinking about fishnet too but not sure if they are "still in". Also not sure if I am bold enough for fish net and coloured opaque.

Thanks for ideas ladies. Keep them coming.

Although think I am still veering towards patterned.

Does anyone think "fishnet" are in?
