I hate it hate it hate it after the cut from hell.

DH's helpful comment was "I like it longer" Well I know that I do too now!

So, shall I dye it in an attempt to like it more??

No no no no no.

Don't dye your hair. Just be patient and let it grow. Or maybe another hairdresser could sort it for you?

Why not, it could be fun. You can always dye it back to the original colour.

Are we talking a cheap home colour or full-on hairdresser experience? Don't go back to the person who gave you the cut from hell, you'll end up with orange stripes or something.

What colour is it? Can you put one of those wash-in wash-out things in it to see if a new colour would make a difference before taking the plunge with permanent dye?

flamesparrow · 06/12/2008 11:03

Lol another hairdresser has sorted it, but even the much improved version I hate - there is nothing more that can be done with the cut apart from wait.

It would be a home dye job. I think I'll leave it. I'll just end up with a block colour hair that makes me look washed out won't I?

L'Oreal make those "multi-tonal" kits which might be worth a go? I've never used them because they look a bit complicated and I'm not that good at dying my hair

TinselianAstra · 06/12/2008 13:28

Oooh, those are fun. I did it once for my mum (if your hair is long it does help to have someone who can stand behind your head and help). It's not very complicated at all, you just put the base colour on, wait a bit, rinse, then paint on stripes of the other stuff. She asked Dad to do it once and he only put the highlights on the top layer, so when she brushed her hair back she looked a bit like a skunk .
