I am used to seeing cod lots on the S&B but not for a while now. What happened to her? Does anyone know?

She left afaik.

ComeOVeneer · 05/12/2008 22:11

SHe left due to some nasty business with someone from RL giving her grief on here

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 06/12/2008 10:52

we're all from 'real life'. You mean somebody was nasty to her in HER real life! Made nasty comments to her face???

STill haven't worked out what happened to her. Cod the ledge.

georgiemum · 06/12/2008 10:55

I thought someone knew who she was in the real world and made some comments about her on the site. So she thought 'bugger this, I'm off'.

TheNewsMongersGeansaiNollag · 06/12/2008 11:01

If you do know somebody and they're a mumsnetter I think it would be so easy to identify them. I'm sure some people know me. Makes me shiver to think of it but I can't give up Mumsnet. Just name change every month or two.

Plenty of people reveal their age, even birth DATE, the sexes of their children, maybe a name even, maybe their OWN name!
their profession, or their husband's profession!#

I know this isn't nasty but when I was pg with dc2 I knew he was a boy but didn't say so in rl. Turned out somebody I knew was reading my posts and told our mutual friends. I was made to feel very silly, but really I was just cross!

Somebody else, a different person name-changed to do a drive by 'i know who you are'.

REally, we are all totally mad to be here tapping away on mn.

Cod had a moment of sanity and left.

widgypog · 06/12/2008 16:11

err , am I missing the point or have some people got stuff they need to hide? why does it matter if people recognise you?

ChukkyPig · 06/12/2008 16:18

Alot of people post sensitive things about their personal and private lives they'd rather not people in RL knew, express strong opinions about controversial subjects, tell anecdotes about people they know in RL which they wouldn't want them hearing about etc etc.

I know one person on here knows me but i wouldn't want eg work people finding out i was me and looking at all my posts as they are personal and not all things i would want to share.

Cod was understandably unnerved when her MN life and real life crossed over.

widgypog · 06/12/2008 16:31

oh ok

ChukkyPig · 06/12/2008 16:32

i know a lot of people deliberately never post anything that they would mind other people knowing about which is a good approach too. depends what you want to use the board for i guess

LilMatchGirlInVictorianSqualor · 06/12/2008 16:42

I never put anything on MN that I wouldn't be happy for the world to hear.

BettyMoody · 06/12/2008 16:43

Well your posts must be pretty dull then.

LilMatchGirlInVictorianSqualor · 06/12/2008 16:47

Maybe I just don't care what people know?

Jewelsandgems · 06/12/2008 20:27

God that's awful that someone in RL was nasty to her. I mean, I don't take MN that seriously and certainly would never be nasty to someone if I found out they were someone I knew (I know sometimes I have posted something arsey, just because I have been in a bad mood/had PMT). I do hope she comes back....

Oh, I'm sure there will be a point when
Cod is back, some of us will know who she is, some won't, but that's the same with everyone that leaves, personalities are recognised, if you don't really know them or cross paths you won't realise, but either way, if you liked their MN persona, you'll soon learn to like a similar persona under a different name, non?
