Anyone ever found a face cream that works so well people REALLY comment on how much better you look?

Or are all the magazines just talking bo**ocks?

Not prepared to spend ££££s on the off chance!

I think it's got more to do with lifestyle than creams-eating well, exercising, etc etc.

How do you want your skin to look compared to how it is now?

A good cleanser makes more difference than a moisturiser IMO. My friends comment when I've been good about remembering to cleanse every day and I can feel the difference.

elemis pro collagen marine cream and eye cream

Last tine I used philosophy Hope in a Jar I got a comment. I love it, but it's £35 a jar so I wait for b'days etc

The only one that people have commented on is the oil of olay spf15 with a slight tanner. it is really subtle. not WAG at all.

Bran, tell me a good, reasonable cleanser! I always use those face cleaning wipes and my friend who has expensive facials told me that the beauty therapist told her that is a big no no no. So I keep meaning to go back to old fashioned way.

i can't recommend all liz earle stuff highly enough. it is expensive but not madly so if you use it judiciously - it lasts and for my sensitive and dry 40 year old skin it is only thing i would use. really brilliant and easy to order to and they send you free samples etc.

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2008 19:51

protect and perfect. Dh notices when I haven't put it on. He was away working one week, came back and told me I looked old - I hadn't had any time to put it on for a couple of days.

SmallShips · 05/12/2008 19:55

Second the Liz Earle stuff. Love the free items they send me when i order!

kalo12 · 05/12/2008 19:57

sisley emulsion ecologique

(protect and perfect gave me a rash btw)

bettybeetroot · 05/12/2008 20:02

elemis pro collagen marine cream - even dh commented on it!

SilentMNight · 05/12/2008 20:04

another vote for pro collagen marine cream, fantastic fantastic fantastic.

FrayedKnot · 05/12/2008 20:16

The Elemis stuff is £75 a pot

I have very dry sensitive skin, and am currently using Jason Vitamin E Pure Beauty Oil (45000 iu) at night, and imo it;s making a real difference.

It's about £10 for a little bottle but it's lasting ages.

Do you have a reindeer with a flashing nose on your Christmas jumper TNM?

I use Liz Earle hot cloth wash or Akamuti sweet orange cleanser (which I take off with a muslin soaked in warm water like Liz Earle cleanser). The Liz Earle stuff is lighter so I use it in the summer and the Akamuti stuff is richer and more moisturising so I use it in the winter. I think it's the slight scrubbiness of the muslin that brightens my skin up, I tend to be a bit flakey and dull-skinned when I get lazy and don't cleanse for a few days.

My best comments come, when I use Waitrose baby butter.

honestfriend · 05/12/2008 21:35

REN cleaners for all skin types, and moisturisers and the best is Omega 3 repair serum and Frankincense night repair - both brill.

I use Waitrose baby bum butter too, it's very soothing, it doesn't make as much difference to how I look as proper cleansing does though.

Ruby2shoes · 05/12/2008 23:12

Waitrose Baby Bottom Butter - it evens my skin tone and has reduced my pores. DP says it makes me look "brighter" ? I have translated this as man speak for "youthfull and glowing"!!!
