hair disaster

Hi, I'm looking for advice on how to deal with being unhappy with my hair, after getting it done on Saturday. Basically i boked in for a semi permanent colour and a cut. Throughout my appointment it was a junior doing everything, ie not who my appointment was with. She also asked the junior to dry my hair while she dealt with another client and then she would cut it. I asked the junior to stop drying as I wanted my hair cut properly. The stylist then rushed to get it done as it was past closing time. When i was paying, the amount was dearer than normal. I was then told i had been given a tint- permanent colour. I did not want this and I am not happy with the cut- it's too short. Basically it was all a rush and I wanted to look better than I do now.

Update- went into salon and stylist said i needed permanent colour to hide grey (I only have a few stray). I said that i would have liked to have known it was permanent and that i couldn't do anything with it as it's too short. I wanted it touching shoulders but its about 1.5 ins above this. I've to phone for an appointment and she'll wash it and show me how to dry it- wanted low maintenence- have 3 kids. What do people think?

Christiana- I did pay- I was so flustered I forgot my pin number. I did make it clear at the time that I didn't know colour was permanent. Just decided to go in today and complain as, in day light I feel colur too dark and i'm still annoyed that it's permanent. Also, have now washed it myself and don't like shape- it's all one length and I cant do anything with it.

Would it be reasonable for me to ask for my colour re-done, so that it's not so dark, and some hair extensions, so that I am more comfortable with the length?
