Mission Impossible: Christmas outfit with a list of specifications (problems)...

I want to wear something sophisticated.. yet modern (would love trendy but feel that is taking it too far..)
I want something that is dressy but for the daytime.
Here are the problems:
*I need a size 18
*I need something not expensive
*I have numerous problem areas-arms, legs definite no go area, jelly belly
*redeeming feature - boobs

I would like to wear the outfit to in-laws on Christmas day and work do (meal out nothing flashy).

If you choose to accept - thank you.

I suppose up to about £70.

I THINK>>>

A V neck dressy long top/short dress type thing over a pair of wide leg trousers.

OR a V neck dress with coloured tights and funky shoes.

Catalog&AID=10569974&PID=3021243&SID=34217362 Jasmine Guinness Marilyn Star Wrap Dress?

Blue long sleeve jersey dress?

I second Maidamess (kinda)

I say tunic style top over wide leg trousers

White Stuff have some nice tunics atm but their sizes are v limited

PortAndLemon · 30/11/2008 23:47

Purple yoke wrap dress

Juliet wrap dress

Do you have time to order something like this from the US?

(Califrau swears by Igigi)

leoleomakingalist · 01/12/2008 10:30

I like the dresses .. esp the dp one (suggested by P&L) - although honestly would it be unflattering with the front opening?

I was thinking a tunic top over wide legged trousers (saw a nice pair in M&S) just need the top I suppose for that idea.

I am too nervous to order from the US with such little time to return if wrong etc.

If I went with a dress I would have to wear tights. Would I wear black opaque tights or coloured tights a la Fern Britton or flesh tights? What sort of shoes? Cannot do knee boots as legs are v chunky.

Thank you everyone..

At the bottom? I think it depends on how long it works out as on you.

Hmm... may order one myself, actually. That shade of blue is a really good colour on me.

leoleomakingalist · 01/12/2008 10:52

Going to shops today will see if they have one in store to try if not will order one and see.
What do you think about the tights with this dress?
I like the colour also.
